All projects funded under the Mississippi Water Pollution Control Revolving Loan fund Program undergo a review to determine whether the proposed project will have a significant impact on the environment. In making this determination, the Department assumes that all of the facilities and actions recommended in the facilities plan will be implemented. The facilities plan for this project is entitled “Facilities Plan Update” dated January 2017 and prepared by Neel-Schaffer, Inc.

The proposed project includes the installation of a sewer interceptor pipe consisting of approximately 8,916 LF of 24 inch sewer line; 3,597 LF of 18 inch sewer line; 305 Lf of 16 inch sewer line; 6,148 LF of 15 inch sewer line; 53 manholes; removal of approximately 13,400 LF of various size sewer lines with related appurtenances and necessities required to complete the job. The estimated project cost is $6,037,041.00, and the anticipated loan amount is $6,037,041.00. The location of the proposed project is near the western boundary of the corporate limits and extends southward from Virginia Avenue to the West Facilities Pumping Station.

The Mississippi Office of Pollution Control has determined that the proposed project meets the criteria for receiving a categorical exclusion from further environmental review. However, this determination can be revoked if significant adverse information becomes available.
